Ayyyy!!! The half-way point!
I’m so glad I finally get to read this poem. I love it, and I’m so proud of that translation!
Well, friends, I was awoken by worry and coughing at 5.20am this morning, for which I could find no remedy but to finish reading The Instrumentalist. It is a very beautiful book, about resilience.
And my listening exam went well today.
And I listened to a podcast on the life of Giacomo Casanova beforehand. I didn’t know he had to stage a Monte-Cristoesque prison escape from one of the most forbidding prisons in Venice, did you?
I think I might be entering an 18th Century Venice phase.
One of my classmates and friends and I studied together after lunch, and then I went and met up with another friend for a walk and a hot chocolate. They have finished their Master’s and are looking for a job. It is a lofty, but uncertain, position. One I have yet to look from.
My cold is getting better (I hope).
I very nearly fell into despair this morning, and this afternoon, but I am keeping afloat. I remind myself that there is something bigger out there that I must work towards.
I hope you are well, wherever you are.
