Paris – Day 15

Today started with vestiges of anxiety from yesterday. I didn’t do too well. I woke up early, and was on my phone until around 10, when I finally decided enough was enough. I got ready for the day and wrote several letters.

I didn’t manage to accomplish anything academic, too much screen time being exactly that, but writing the letters was therapeutic, and I got some housework done. I made dhal for dinner and had some macarons for dessert. They were divine. I explained to my landlady why I had been absent all day. She was sympathetic. I told her everything was going to be OK. It is.

I then went out to Paris to see my uni friend. Though it was extremely difficult to get there, and though the memo to bring something to drink had to fall by the wayside with transport being what it was, I managed to get there, post my letters, quickly get a bottle of rosé to bring from a nearby pizzeria, and have a lovely time at the party. My friend has nice friends. It was a lovely bilingual evening. I was told I have an East France accent, which may be a Tignes thing, as that’s where I spent most of my holidays as a kid. Life feels a bit more normal 🙂

1.Take time for yourself if you can.

2.Don’t be afraid to meet new people.

3.The world keeps turning.
